Work at Waverley Terrace Allotments
As you may be aware Waverley Terrace Allotments was successful in securing significant funding from the Big Lottery which will enable us to support more people and improve the facilities on the Allotment Site.
We wanted to let you know in advance, that construction activity will be carried out on the site starting on 1st February 2016 with the site set up and initial developments then sewer connection works will commence on 15th February 2016. It is expected that the construction activities will last for approximately six weeks.
The work is being carried out by Cleveland Land Services and will involve the construction of a:
- Small access road and car park;
- Toilet with wheelchair access, and;
- Classroom/learning environment.
We have taken all available steps to minimise disruption to local residents with site traffic diverted along Tristram Avenue and entering the Allotments through the gates on Waverley Terrace. Unfortunately to enable the drainage works to be completed there will need to be a temporary road closure to part of Waverley Terrace but we will make every effort to give residents the appropriate notice. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
Contractors have been advised of the school opening and closing times to minimise any risks to the public walking along Waverley Terrace and Kingsley School have been consulted.
If you have any queries, speak to any member of staff at the allotment or contact Martyn French – Promoting Change, Transforming Lives Project Co-ordinator on 01429 867677.
